Mix No. 1: The Italian Paloma

Anyone who knows me is aware that the Paloma is my favorite cocktail. It simply consists of tequila, grapefruit soda, & lime juice. So refreshing, not too sweet, just lovely. When I caught wind that the Paloma may have a (hotter, Italian) sister, I had to try it for myself. I found a few recipes online but the one below has been adapted to perfection by yours truly! Please note that the measurements below are rough…don’t feel like you have to follow perfectly. All the ingredients are so tasty, you can’t mess this up!

STEP 1: GATHER INGREDIENTS

3 oz. tequila

1.5 oz. Campari

1 oz. lime juice

1 oz. lemon juice

.5 oz. grapefruit juice

6 oz. Italian orange soda (I used San Pellegrino Prickly Pear & Orange, mmm)

Ice (couple handfuls for shaking + 1 big ass cube for cocktail)

1 T salt

1 T sugar

STEP 2: POUR & SHAKE

Shake tequila, Campari, lime juice, lemon juice, & grapefruit juice with LOTS of ice until the shaker makes your hand numb.

STEP 3: FINISH

Add chilled Italian orange soda to the shaker, but don’t shake or you’ll lose the effervescence! Rub rim of glass with lemon and dip glass in a shallow bowl of salt & sugar mixture to coat rim.

STEP 4: ENJOY

Put a big ass cube in your glass, pour your magical concoction in, and enjoy! (if you’re feeling fancy, slice a section of lemon peel for a garnish)
