Baby Brother's Bedroom Design

We were so thrilled to find out we were expecting another boy! Lots of perks — a playmate for Ty, the familiarity of having a baby boy, and of course, hand-me-downs! I decided that green would be baby brother Sam’s signature color, while Ty’s is blue. I found two art pieces that I knew I wanted to incorporate: a print by Hope Olson, and a painting by Elizabeth Lamb. Both pieces are so whimsical and I fell in love with the colors. And just like that, his room theme seemed to be very “that’s what little boys are made of.”

“Start with the art!” they said. Print by the talented Hope Olson.

This original painting by Elizabeth Lamb is a nod to our family dog, Riggins. And the canvas sides are painted a bright green!

I ended up making the bobbin frame (so easy!) and mounting the print on top of mat board - with no glass since I didn’t want a glare. Very happy with how it turned out! The things I paid full price for are the Abigail crib, Rowe Sophie swivel glider, & linen blackout roman shades. I found the antique washstand on FB marketplace and it’s the perfect size for a changing table. Below are the sources for everything else:

Shades of green abound in baby Sam’s room.

I took the closet doors off and painted the interior SW Reseda Green.

Can you guess what my go-to pattern is? Stripes are timeless - but especially sweet - for little boys.
