Art & Wallpaper: Pretty Pairs
Who else has been into the recent resurgence of wallpaper in interiors? I have come around to this aesthetic, and want to share some of my available paintings paired with wallpaper patterns that I think look fabulous! If you’re interested in any of these paintings, all details can be found here.
“Spontaneity” on Schumacher
The Queen of Spain pattern has been a favorite of mine for a few years now, and I think the Dove colorway works especially nicely with the natural linen that my paintings are on. Shop “Spontaneity” on the Liz Lidgett Gallery website (they ship nationwide).
“Hydrangea Season” on Tilton Fenwick x Hygge & West
This is a high energy painting with a lot of movement, but the border of natural linen surrounding the art allows for it to live on a somewhat complex pattern, Pombal. Really loving these two together! Shop “Hydrangea Season” on the Bee Street Gallery website (they ship nationwide).
“Blues on Linen” on Schumacher
Leaping Leopards and a framed mixed media art piece just go hand-in-hand to me. So funky fresh! Shop “Blues on Linen” at Urban Cottage in Atlanta.
“Wild Little Thing” on Tilton Fenwick x Hygge & West
This little moment is a perfect example of how art doesn’t have to be perfectly matchy-matchy with the furniture & fixtures in the room ( wallcoverings, window treatments, rugs, etc.). By placing a poppy red colored book in the same room as the painting, a visual connection is made while allowing the Florebela wallpaper and the art to sing their own song. Shop “Wild Little Thing” on the Bee Street Gallery website (they ship nationwide).
“Grapefruits” on Schumacher
One idea when coordinating artwork to your wallcovering is to play off one of the least dominant colors found in the art. In this case, I’m loving the mustard color being drawn out of the paintings to match the Edwin Stripe pattern - allowing the vivid grapefruit color to shine even more. These paintings are currently available at The Urban Farmhouse.
“Party Tricks” on Tilton Fenwick x Hygge & West
When in doubt, I always love a monochromatic look. All blue everything, including the Askandra Flower pattern…so timeless & classic! Shop “Party Tricks” on the Bee Street Gallery website. They ship nationwide.
“Tomato pie” on Schumacher
For all the bright-color aficionados, this pairing is for you. A punchy painting contrasts against this happy Joan pattern in the yellow colorway. Shop “Tomato Pie” at The Urban Farmhouse.
